Memberships, cards & wallet
How memberships, session cards, credits, and gift cards work on Thril, and where to manage them.
Beyond paying for a single booking, many venues let you hold ongoing value with Thril: memberships, session cards, credits, and gift cards. Here's how each one works and where to find it.
Wallet
Your Wallet is where the value you hold lives. Open it to see your credits, gift card balances, session cards, and their expiry dates. Balances are tied to the venue (or, in some cases, the venue chain) where you hold them.
Memberships
Many venues sell memberships that give you recurring access or perks. Buy one from the venue's page, and it's ready to use the next time you book.
Recurring memberships & renewals
Some memberships renew automatically on a recurring schedule. If a renewal payment can't be taken:
- You'll be notified, and you have 7 days to resolve it.
- After that, what happens depends on the membership type:
- Memberships with no fixed term simply end.
- Memberships on a fixed-term contract stay active but are restricted: you won't be able to make new bookings with the membership until the outstanding payment is settled.
Cancelling or changing a membership
For a recurring membership, you can often cancel it yourself: open the membership under Settings (on the web) or your Wallet (in the mobile app) and choose Terminate membership.
- For memberships with no fixed term, cancelling stops the next renewal, and your membership ends when the current period runs out.
- For memberships on a fixed-term contract with a notice period, your membership ends after that termination period has passed.
If you don't see the option, or you want to make other changes, contact the venue.
Session cards
A session card is a prepaid bundle of sessions you buy up front and then use towards eligible bookings.
- Each card covers a set number of sessions and can be used for the courts, services, or events the venue has made it valid for.
- Cards have a validity period. For some, the clock starts when you buy it; for others, from your first use.
- You can see your remaining sessions and expiry in your Wallet.
Credits & gift cards
- Credits are a balance you hold at a venue (or chain). You can spend them in the app towards eligible bookings and purchases there. Credits may expire, and they're non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Gift cards are redeemed with a code. Once redeemed, the value becomes credits in your account, which you then spend like any other credits. The credits may have their own expiry.
Session cards, credits, and gift cards are generally non-refundable, so they're best bought when you know you'll use them. Always check the expiry in your Wallet.
